The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned an attack by settlers on two Jordanian aid convoys carrying food, flour, and other humanitarian supplies to the Gaza Strip. One convoy was heading to Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing, while the other was supposed to enter Gaza via the Beit Hanoun crossing (Erez).

The Ministry stated that the failure of the Israeli Occupation government to protect the aid convoys and allowing them to be attacked is a serious violation of its legal obligations as the occupying power and its duty to permit aid into Gaza.

Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, the Ministry's official spokesperson, emphasized that the attack on the convoys by extremists and the failure of the occupation authorities to provide protection undermine the occupation government's claims and its obligations to allow aid into Gaza, including through the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing.

The Ministry held the Israeli Occupation authorities fully responsible for the attack and urged the international community to condemn it and demand that Tel Aviv fulfill its legal obligations to protect aid convoys and the international organizations involved in receiving and distributing them.

The two aid convoys, organized by the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization in collaboration with Tkiyet Um Ali, the World Food Program (WFP), the Human Appeal organization in Britain, the Imdad Relief Foundation in South Africa, and the IMC Organization in the United States, were attacked at dawn by settlers as they headed towards the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing and the Kerem Shalom crossing. Some of the cargo was dumped on the streets, causing damage to the trucks.

Despite the attack, the convoys continued their mission to deliver aid to Gaza, reaching their destinations amidst the humanitarian crisis facing the region.
